Yukari Kita

Yukari Kita focuses her practice on domestic and cross-border business transactions, including drafting and reviewing agreements, and supporting negotiations. Drawing on her overseas experience, she advises clients on international matters and works with foreign counsel as needed to provide practical and appropriate guidance. Her experience as in-house counsel also informs her approach, allowing her to provide clear and practical advice tailored to her clients’ needs.
Her experience includes the following:

Corporate

  • Assisted with negotiations and drafted and reviewed various agreements between Japanese and foreign companies, including business alliance agreements, license agreements, and product supply agreements.
  • Drafted and reviewed agreements and provided legal advice in connection with M&A transactions.
  • Advised on shareholders’ meetings and other general corporate law matters.
  • Assisted with internal investigations.

Personal Information and Data Protection

  • Advised on Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information and reviewed agreements involving the handling of personal information.
  • Advised on compliance with foreign privacy and data protection laws in cooperation with foreign counsel.

Competition Law

  • Assisted with merger control filings with foreign competition authorities.
  • Assisted Japanese companies in investigations by foreign authorities, working in cooperation with foreign counsel.

Dispute Resolution

  • Assisted companies with litigation in Japan.
  • Assisted Japanese companies involved in U.S. litigation, working in cooperation with U.S. counsel.
